Hannes Reeh is a young, modest and uncomplicated man. He stands for an easy-going style of life and diligently follows his goals, yet is always laid back and relaxed. The place where this unconventional winemaker produces his wines is located in the wine-growing area of Neusiedlersee in Burgenland. Andau lies in the most eastern corner of Seewinkel, directly on the Austro-Hungarian border. The village has one decisive unique feature - with 2,400 hours of sunshine per year, it boasts to be the most sunny town in Austria. With lots of intuition and a natural touch, Hannes Reeh does what he enjoys most – and has a great deal of success with it. Zweigelt is his favourite variety, and makes up some 60 % of his vineyards, which are composed of red gravel and sandy soils.
