The Lisini estate, covering a total of 331 acres and comprising one of the finest, most historical crus in Montalcino, has been in the Lisini family since the early 1700s. The Lisinis, together with Filippo Paoletti and consulting enologist Giulio Gambelli, have ensured this superb terroir consistently expresses its full potential and unique traits. Located just south of Montalcino itself, overlooking the Orcia valley, Lisini was one of the very first estates to produce and bottle Brunello. The vineyards, exclusively devoted to Sangiovese Grosso ("Brunello"), are at an average altitude of 1,150 feet with the average age of the vines over 30 years old, and the oldest vigna dating back to 1940 (Vigna Capannelle).
