At 203 years old, Bladnoch is one Scotland’s oldest whisky distilleries, dating back to 1817 when brothers John and Thomas McLelland were granted a license to distill on their farm, named for the Bladnoch river that abuts the property. The distillery is geographically the furthest South in all of Scotland and was once known as “Queen of the Lowlands” for its large production output.

After being in the hands of the McLelland family for generations, the property is now still privately owned by David Prior, an Australian businessman and whisky aficionado. In 2019, multiple award-winning Master Distiller of The Macallan, Dr. Nick Savage, took over production at Bladnoch.

The distillery uses only the most pristine water sourced from the Bladnoch river and malt sourced from British growers. Bladnoch only produces single malt whiskey made of 100% Malted Barley, giving the whiskies a pure and soft quality with fruity concentration and a long finish.
