Elizabeth Chambers Cellar Pinot Noir Temperance Hill 2016

Vinous: 93 pts

Shimmering ruby-red. Pungent, spice-tinged cherry/dark berry scents are complemented by hints of woodsmoke, vanilla and musky flowers. Densely packed and energetic on the palate, offering bitter cherry, black raspberry and spicecake flavors that steadily become sweeter as the wine opens up. Lingers with outstanding persistence and gentle tannic grip, leaving behind sappy dark fruit and candied violet notes.

The aromas are quite striking with thyme infused wild mushroom and bright red fruits that connect on the enticing bouquet. The texture and salinity is brilliant with red raspberry, red cherry and pomegranate seed that mingle with minerals and wet stone. Delicious now, this will cellar well over the next fifteen years.
