Larrikin Bourbon Company is more than a distillery — it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, camaraderie, and a bit of Aussie swagger. Proudly part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® since 2025, Larrikin Bourbon Company is a veteran-owned, craft distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, blending Kentucky bourbon tradition with Australian irreverence.
Founder LCDR Greg Keeley, USN (ret), a combat-disabled Navy veteran, was raised on the beach in Australian wine country — close enough to the vines to develop a taste for craft, far enough from the cellar door to stay out of trouble. His restless streak eventually led him from the beach to the Navy — two of them. Greg served in both the Royal Australian Navy and the United States Navy, trading surf for sea and racking up combat tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and several other untold military locations.
After years of service, Greg ended up in Kentucky where he founded Larrikin Bourbon Co. in 2023. The distillery was built on the patience of someone who grew up around vines, the discipline of a naval officer, and the irreverence of a bloke who's seen enough of the world to know life's too short for bad whiskey. He employs the “Larrikin Way,” taking the work seriously but not oneself — respecting tradition without being costly, trusting process and palate, and focusing on what makes bourbon better. The ethos of the distillery is “character over ceremony,” with a focus on crafting extraordinary, novel whiskies that stand out in the bourbon world.
Larrikin produces a vast line of whiskeys from classic expressions of straight bourbon and rye whiskey to adventurous blends like maple-infused rye and Cigar Lounge Kentucky Straight Bourbon which brings together five masterfully finished whiskeys from barrels such as Cognac, Amburana, Jaca, Madeira, and Maple. Each expression embodies the Australian slang term “Larrikin” — meaning a maverick who defies convention with good-natured cheek.
