For Olga Peluso Centolani, winemaking is a blend of heritage, intuition, and a deep respect for terroir. Her journey weaves personal history with the evolution of Brunello di Montalcino, guided always by one principle: each wine is unique and must be crafted in a way that honors its own personality.
Olga began producing Brunello in the 1980s on the lands of her mother, Marisa Peluso Centolani. Today she owns two estates in Montalcino’s most expressive zones: Tenute Pietranera on the southeastern slopes and Tenute Donna Olga on the southwestern hills.
Her passion was shaped early during travels in Burgundy, where the philosophy of crus captivated her. Inspired by the idea that every parcel has its own voice, she devoted years to studying soils, exposures, elevations, microclimates, and Sangiovese clones to reveal the individuality of each vineyard.
This vision is reflected in the distinct crus produced today. Tenuta Pietranera creates three Brunelli — Clos degli Amodeo, Pietranera, and Poggiotondo — while Tenuta Donna Olga produces the family’s most historic wine: Brunello di Montalcino “Donna Olga.”
Olga’s sons, Giovanni Maria Amodeo and Federico Maria Amodeo, now continue the legacy, focusing on sustainability and honoring the local ecosystem while remaining true to the family’s core belief: that great wine begins with the land and the character of each vineyard.
