Israal Katz and Josh Chung arrived in New York City at different points in their lives, from different places, and for the usual reasons people are driven to a metropolis — work, ambition, a loved one, a feeling that whatever they were looking for was likely there. What they found was the spirit of New York that inspired them to create Bond St. The two men bonded over their appreciation of high quality vodka and a mutual philosophy that NYC is the ultimate aggregator. They believe that the best eventually finds its way to NYC and once it arrives it must be good enough to stay. This standard is the whole idea behind Bond St.
After searching worldwide for the best partner distillery, Israel and Josh launched Bond St. in 2024 partnering with a distillery in Poland. The name comes from one of NYC’s downtown historic cobblestone streets, a few blocks that held onto their old-world character and charm while everything around them changed. That felt right for a vodka made the old way and meant for people who would notice the difference.
The vodka is made in this old-world way. It begins where few vodkas do: with pesticide-free, non-GMO Polish potatoes and water drawn from chalk deposits 220 meters beneath the Vistula. It is made in Toruń, a UNESCO heritage city, at a distillery that has been turning out vodka for more than 135 years.
The vodka passes through five stages of separation in a five-column still before carbon filtration completes the process. The result is what the brand calls “ultra clean”— smooth, precise, and free of burn or hidden sweetness, allowing the character of the spirit to shine.
