Siro Pacenti Rosso di Montalcino 2017

Vinous: 92pts

Leave it to Giancarlo Pacenti to make one of the most polished Rossos of 2017. Sleek and racy, with tons of persistence, the 2017 is super-expressive today. Dark cherry, spice, menthol, licorice and espresso all run through this mid-weight, striking Rosso. All the elements are impeccably balanced, in a pliant, racy Rosso that delivers the goods. This is such a delicious wine.

Wine Advocate: 90pts

The 2017 Rosso di Montalcino reveals medium to dark color saturation with bright primary aromas. The wine tastes like you are biting into a black summer cherry or eating a handful of sweet blackberries. This entry-level wine from Siro Pacenti delivers exactly what you should expect at this attractive price point. There is ample fruit intensity with just enough structure and acidity to pair with your favorite home cooked dinners. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

Wine Enthusiast: 90pts

Ripe plum, baking-spice, menthol and blue-flower aromas lead the way on this young red. Savory and medium bodied, the palate delivers succulent black cherry, coffee bean, mint and licorice alongside close-grained tannins. Drink through 2021.
