The 2016 'Rivarossa' is a fantastic showing from Mario Schiopetto. This pretty red impresses with a wonderful combination of finesse and verve. Starting with pretty aromas of dried cherries and red berries which are laced with tobacco, dried florals, cracked pepper and hints of herbs that all come together beautifully. On the palate this is medium-bodied and well balanced, framed by silky, polished tannins and lovely acidity keeping it fresh and inviting through the finish. Composed of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this Rosso is absolutely delightful now and I would expect it to continue to drink beautifully as it evolves over the next decade
