The 2016 Etna Rosso Profumo di Vulcano is a blend of 80% Nerello Mascalese, 15% Nerello Cappuccio and tiny parts Alicante, Francisi, Carricante and Grecanico grapes. This is a pretty wine with a compact bouquet that reveals wild berry, pressed rose and volcanic ash in a very slow and controlled manner. You need to give the glass a few extra swirls to get it going. The wine ages in tonneaux for 24 months. A mere 1,800 bottles were made.
