Oddero Barolo Villero 2011

International Wine Report: 94pts

The 2011 Villero is a simply beautiful Barolo from Oddero made in a traditional style. As this slowly begins to unwind in the glass, it releases gorgeous aromas of red fruits, dried floral, licorice and mint followed with rustic notes of fresh porcini and leather nuances. This is firmly structured, backed by fine, tannins which lead to the beautiful finish. Overall, the 2011 Villero is sensational effort and a truly classic Barolo in every sense of the word. (Best 2018-2031) - Jun, 2015 (JD)

Wine Spectator: 92pts

Warm, inviting aromas of worn leather, warm brick, menthol, licorice, dried cherry and tobacco highlight this complex red. Balanced, ending with assertive tannins that will need time to soften. Best from 2019 through 2032. 450 cases made. –BS, Nov 2015

James Suckling: 92pts

A red with juicy fruit and firm tannins. Lots of berry and chocolate character. Full body, fine tannins and a clean finish. Better in 2018. Apr 2015
