Oddero Barolo "Rocche di Castiglione" 2011

Interational Wine Report: 95pts – 2015 Top 100 Wines #27

The Oddero Rocche di Castiglione Barolo is simply striking in 2011, made in a traditional style, this offers incredible aromas and flavors of fresh cherries and red berries layered with pretty florals, mint, licorice and sweet spices which all come together in this beautifully structured Barolo from the Oddero Family. It continues to impress even further as it expands onto the palate with remarkable precision, balance and wonderful underlying acidity, which persists through the long and multi-dimensional finish. Today, this still youthful, but outstanding, and only begins to show its true potential after extended hours of air. That being said, Oddero’s Barolo have the reputation to age gracefully and I only expect the 2011 to further evolve with time. (Best 2018-2032) - Jun, 2015 (JD)

Wine Spectator: 93pts

A pretty red, featuring floral, cherry, menthol and tar flavors that meld harmoniously with the elegant frame. The refined tannins add to the graceful character. Finishes long and savory. Best from 2017 through 2028. 500 cases made. –BS, Nov 2015
