Oddero Barolo 2010

James Suckling: 95pts

Very pretty aromas and flavors of dried strawberries and plums follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and an intense finish. It’s all in the finish here. Needs at least five years to come together. Impressive structure. Best blended Barolo ever from here.  Apr 2014

Wine Spectator: 93pts

Lushly textured, this red cuts a rich swath of spicy plum and cherry flavors, with accents of leather and tobacco, until the beefy tannins corral all the elements on the finish. Balanced on the tannic side, this should find equilibrium with time. Best from 2018 through 2033. 3,000 cases made. –BS, Dec 2014

International Wine Report: 93pts

The 2010 classic Barolo from Oddero is is composed of a blend of Nebbiolo sourced from Bricco Chiesa, Capalot and Bricco Fiasco from Castigilione Falletto. It is elegant and refined with pretty aromas of strawberry, licorice, floral, smoke and mint, which all come together beautifully in the glass. Silky, yet firm, showing excellent structure, finishing up long and pretty with lovely red fruits and spices lingering. Although this will need a bit more time its a remarkable showing and superb entry into the fantastic range of 2010s from Oddero. This (Best 2016-2027) - Jul, 2014 (JD)
