Lisini Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2008

International Wine Report: 96pts

The 2008 Brunello Riserva is an absolutely gorgeous showing from Lisini, elegant and refined with beautiful aromas of cherries and wild berries woven together with freshly cut floral, wet stones, spices, eucalyptus and a wonderful savory edge. On the palate this is remarkably fresh and pure, showing incredible balance and focus as it finesses its way into the long, silky finish. This tremendous Brunello is already offering so much and there is no doubt this will be even better with age. (Best 2017-2030) - Feb, 2015 (JD)

James Suckling: 94pts

There are wonderful aromas of toasted oak here, along with dried apricots, nutmeg and other spices. This a full-bodied and elegant red with fine and polished tannins and a long finish. The wood here is kept in an appealing balance by the high acidity, and this should age well. So delicious now, but even better in 2016.

Wine Spectator: 92pts

A powerful, fleshy style, whose cherry, plum, leather and spice flavors get a boost from lively acidity and dense, dusty tannins. Juicy, harmonious and long, this builds to a complex aftertaste. Best from 2016 through 2027. 300 cases made. –BS, Oct 2014
