Oddero Barolo 2011

Wine Spectator: 93pts

This red is tightly wound, binding the cherry, strawberry, licorice and mentholated herb flavors with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. All the elements are there, but this needs time to find equilibrium. Fine length. Best from 2018 through 2030. 4,000 cases made. –BS, Dec 2015

James Suckling: 92pts

A juicy and rich Barolo with silky tannins, savory fruit and a fresh finish. Full body. Flavorful finish. Apr 2015

International Wine Report: 92pts

The Classic Barolo is a wonderful overview of Oddero’s stunning set of wines in 2011. It opens up beautifully in the glass with gorgeous aromas of strawberries and red berries woven together with dried florals, eucalyptus, licorice and some fresh minerals working their way into the mix. On the palate it is beautifully structured and focused with a wonderful refined character that resonates into the finish. This is an excellent showing from The Oddero family and should continue to impress for years to come. (Best 2017-2028) - Jun 2015 (JD)
