Oddero Barbaresco Gallina 2011

James Suckling: 94pts

Aromas of plum, berry and chocolate powder. Full body and fine tannins with very bright, intense acidity and orange-peel character. Best ever Gallina? Better in 2017.

International Wine Report: 93pts

Even at this early stage the 2011 ‘Gallina’ is already offering so much. This stunning Barbaresco delvers gorgeous aromas of fresh red fruits, floral, crushed stones and licorice just to name a few. It is impressive for its elegance and finesse along with the beautifully, fine polished tannins that work their way into the elegant finish. Although this quite delicious today, I would still recommend allowing it more time in bottle, and given Oddero’s track record for age worthy wines this should have no issues evolving gracefully. (Best 2017-2028) - Oct 2014 (JD)

Wine Spectator: 91pts

Ripe yet elegant, boasting cherry, raspberry and tea flavors matched to a lean, tight structure. Stays fresh and focused through the long finish, with an aftertaste of tobacco and underbrush. Best from 2017 through 2028. 750 cases made.–BS, Nov 2014
