Poderi Arcangelo was a property of Giuseppe Mora who started producing wine in 1956, in a small vineyard near the "Casa dell'Arcangelo" in the lower part of the property. Thus the name Poderi Arcangelo, as the history of this winery started from just this small piece of land. Giuseppe's son, Bruno, planted their highest quality vineyards between 1995 and 2006. He passed his love of the land and the wines on to his daughter, Sandra, who now runs the estate. They have a particular passion for local grapes such as Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese, and Vernaccia di San Gimignano, which was the first wine to be awarded DOC status in 1966. The winery has been certified organic since 2000, as Sandra believes in creating wines that are enjoyable for the consumer and express and preserve the land where they are made. In addition to having abandoned the use of herbicides and replacing chemical fertilizers with natural options, Poderi Arcangelo has a 50 kw photovoltaic system that makes them self-sufficient in the use of electricity.

The property is located on hilly countryside at about 240 meters above sea level, making organic cultivation easier as the altitude helps prevent fungal diseases and mildew. they are producing 200,000 liters of wine per year on 25 hectares of vineyard.
