Founded by Martine and Philippe Pasquier-Meunier nearly 30 years ago, Chateau St. Louis is situated on the great plateau of Boutenac – Corbieres, with 120 ha of vineyards dating back to the Roman era.
The terroir of Boutenac is the essence of Château de Saint-Louis. The gravelly soils attract the roots of the old vine plantings of Carignan and Grenache, allowing them to draw minerals and moisture from deep within the earth. The low and stony hills are surrounded by pine trees and planted facing south to maximize sun exposure.
Corbieres-Boutenac was recognized as an appellation in 2005 and follows strict standards, ensuring that only the best wines which remain true to the land are produced. This includes low yields, reduced planting density, and mandatory dry-farming.
